About Me

My photo
BEJ Smith
My name is Barry Smith and I am now a Brighton-based Australian artist and illustrator. At various times in my career I have made portraits; been a writer and illustrator of books for children; specialised in depicting the street life and architecture of the East End of London; I am currently interested in living and working in Brighton. My interest includes the neo realist European cinema of the late l940s as well as the Hollywood output of the same period. I love good stories and products from that age of anxiety of the l940s and l950s.
